Here are some of Tallinn's tourist attractions you shouldn't miss out on.

Neveski Cathedral
Certainly the most prominent of the churches on Tallinn's skyline is the Alexander Neveski Cathedral. Built during the period of the Russian Empire, it was erected on a site that formerly housed a statue of Martin Luther (the fella who was against fancy looking churches). I guess the Russians aren't without some sense of irony.

    St Olavs Church
Make sure you find time to climb the tower of St Olav's church, for the best views of the town. Between 1549 and 1625, when the spire burnt down after a lightning strike, it was the tallest building in the world. It has been hit by lightning at least eight times and burnt down three times. You would have thought the town's folk would have got the hint.

Town Hall
Raekoja plats (town hall square) is a beautiful example of classical architecture, and of course has the old medieval Town Hall. Lookout for a metal disk embedded in the cobbled floor towards one end of the square. Standing on this you can view all five of the old town church spires.

    Toompea
Toompea, or Cathedral Hill, sits about 20-30 metres above the rest of the town. This is where the present day Estonian parliament resides and was also the seat of central authority for Teutonic Order of knights in the region. It was actually considered a separate town from Tallinn until 1878, and has some great views looking out over the lower town.
